www.kentscoobies.co.uk is dedicated to the MY95 Subaru Impreza STI RA track day car featured. The car was imported from Japan in late November and registered in the UK in early December 2007. It arrived with numerous modifications already carried out, and has undergone further enhancements, in an effort to transform it into a safe and reliable track day car...and if it's quick, even better.
Work carried out
Kent Scoobies member Dean Larkins of Larkins Auto Services has fully serviced the car, changing all fluids to racing specifications and carried out several additional modifications.
The adjustable Ohlins suspension and lowering springs have been changed to Cusco coilovers, and the car now sits on 17" Rota lightweight wheels with Toyo Proxy R888 rubber for dry days and Dunlop SP Sport competition tyres for the frequent wet weather track days. In addition, and at short notice, Andy and Darren at Maidstone Engineering Ltd have modified the rollcage by welding in a horizontal bar for the shoulder harnesses, and fabricated & installed a boot blanking plate in lieu of the rear seats. They also made up and installed a chequered footplate in the passenger foot well, to protect the piggy back ECU (now replaced with the SimTek).
Updates
I hope to add some video footage added shortly of the car in action on its inaugural Trackday outing at the first 2008 "Triple Club Event" at Brands Hatch that took place on the 22nd February 2008. Where fellow www.kentscoobies.co.uk members, lapped the Indy Circuit along side / in front of www.lancerregister.com and www.gtr.co.uk members.
Last but not least, and at the request of some of the Kentscoobies members (old and new), we have included a bulletin board for open use throughout the Kent Subaru community.
